Twelve phosphates across four cations. Ammonium phosphates (MAP, DAP and ammonium polyphosphate) serve fertilisers, dry-powder extinguishers and intumescent coatings; calcium phosphates (MCP, DCP and TCP) go into animal feed, baking powder, tablets and toothpaste; potassium phosphates (MKP and DKP) into fertigation and buffers; sodium phosphates (MSP, DSP, TSP and TSPP) into boiler water treatment, cleaners, detergents and food processing.
